Neil has a wealth of experience having been in the arboricultural industry for over 25 years. He started Beechwood in 1999 with a passion to innovate and be at the forefront of tree care. He remains very much at the heart of the business, working on development, training and managing our larger commercial contracts. Neil and Paula have 4 children who make regular appearances in our famous Christmas cards. Outside of work you’ll often find him doing something to do with rugby!
Paula is married to Neil and has been involved in all things Beechwood from the very beginning. Having previously been an IT Manager within a large insurance company, she has a wealth of valuable experience when it comes to running an efficient and smooth administrative service. Paula mainly deals with our accounts, but as a small business owner is involved in many aspects of the business. Being a mum of 4, Paula is kept very busy but enjoys spending time with friends and walking their Ridgeback dog, Sprocket
Nathan has been in the arboricultural industry for nearly 20 years, and graduated from Merrist Wood College, widely recognised by industry specialists as one of the best. Nathan has had previous experience of running his own tree surgery firm and now works closely with Neil to ensure the smooth running of all that goes on here. Nathan holds a professional Tree Inspection qualification and will often be the first friendly face you meet at quotation stage. He’s been married for 15 years, has 2 wonderful boys and coaches his sons U9’s football team in his spare time.
Kim joined Beechwood in 2008 as a part-time administration assistant and has been the Office Manager since 2011. If you’ve contacted the office, you’ll have no doubt spoken to Kim! Having 43 years of management experience, she possesses excellent organisational skills and ensures the effectiveness of the company’s processes. Kim now works from home after moving to Dorset in 2020 and is enjoying her seaside life with her Cavapoo, Robby.
After completing her International Baccalaureate (IB) last year, Tia decided to take a gap year and gain valuable admin experience in the Beechwood office. Tia is the oldest daughter of Neil and Paula’s 4 children. She’s quickly taken on the social media accounts and is full of new and innovative ideas. Tia also works part-time at the local pub and enjoys playing hockey on the weekends.
Alex has been in arb industry for over 10 years and joined Beechwood in 2019. As well as carrying out his role as a Foreman, he is also the operator of our large ROTO, also known as ‘The Big Green Tree Cutting Machine’! Alex is vastly experienced in all things arb related and we rely on his expertise on more challenging jobs. He’s married to his partner of over 20 years and they have 3 boys together. He enjoys football and has recently started coaching a youth football team.
This is Mikey, our Yard Manager at Beechwood. He’s loved by all and an integral part of our team. Mike has been doing tree work since 2017 and with previous landscaping experience, he has a great overall knowledge of site work and customer care. He’s passionate about anything to do with nature and all things outdoors: canoeing, mountain biking, wakeboarding and more!
Fred is a fantastic arborist who specialises in reducing trees in a way that not only looks amazing but also keeps within the British Standards. Fred joined us as an apprentice and has progressed quickly to being a well respected Foreman. Because of his passion for teaching, he is now the apprenticeship mentor, helping our trainees to get the most out of college and progress their skills. Outside of work Fred loves his music and after growing up in France speaks almost fluent French!
Tom is a budding Foreman and already heads up one of our large grounds maintenance contracts. He has an excellent work ethic and always strives to do the best job. He was previously enrolled on a horticulture apprenticeship but has since transferred over to the arboricultural course and therefore has a wide range of knowledge on both the small jobs and the big ones too. He enjoys playing rugby outside of work as well as spending time where he grew up in Twickenham.
Archie is fast becoming a great tree climber having taken to it like a duck to water. He always has a can do attitude and loves to push himself to improve. Archie started with us last year and is doing an apprenticeship at BCA College. He previously worked as a mechanic but was keen to be outside and doing a more physical job. Archie excels at football and enjoys spending time with his friends.
Oli started last year as an apprentice and his attention to detail makes him a valuable member of the team. He is meticulous in his work and has been enjoying putting his newly learned skills into practise. Oli is also enrolled at BCA studying arboriculture and is pushing himself to become a fully qualified climber. He loves the outdoors, playing rugby outside of work and is a local boy through and through.
Tom is one of the newer members of our team and is a great find. He has a brilliant work ethic and is full of ideas that help others and get things done. Already pushing himself, it won’t be long until he is swinging around in the trees too. As with all of our apprentices, he is already enrolled at BCA. Tom previously worked at a local farm where he was a Foreman and developed some great leadership skills. He enjoys socialising with his friends and watching sport on the TV.
A Ridgeback and a Cavapoo (we’ll let you decide which one is which!) who are the best of friends. They are both lovely companions in the office and much loved members of our team… we always make sure to include them on our Christmas cards so you’ll be sure to see them looking festive!
